We have a play-based learning strategy which encourages young children to make sense of their world and learn vital foundational skills within exploration, developing and practising language and physical skills and experimenting with new concepts. Children develop confidence, express themselves creatively, and develop their sense of self and identity. Besides personal exploration, they additionally learn co-operation and how to build relations and engage in a group.
Children will be encouraged to play independently, in small groups, in large groups, indoors and outdoors. Activities vary from building spatial perception with playdough or blocks to sharpening fine motor skills and awareness of colours and shapes with drawing and painting.
The Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) represents the principles, practices and outcomes required for children’s learning from birth to five years of age, as well as transition to school. It’s part of the Australian Government’s National Quality Framework for early childhood education and care. The framework has strong importance on play-based learning, identifying the quality of communication and language (including early literacy and numeracy) and social and emotional growth. There are five learning outcomes defined by the EYLF:
We are enthusiastic about assuring all children have passage to early learning and have tools and resources in place in our centre to support children with particular requirements or additional needs – from allergies to greater care needs such as physical or learning disabilities or behavioural concerns. Please speak with your Director about how we can work together to support your child’s individual needs.
